ND Cause: The heart is divided down the middle into two parts – the left side and the right side. The heart has four chambers, two on each side. The chambers on the right side of the heart take in blood that has been circulating throughout the body and has become saturated with carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide rich blood is pumped into the lungs by the chambers on the right side of the heart. In the lungs the carbon dioxide is traded for oxygen. The carbon dioxide is exhaled, and the oxygen rich blood then travels to the left side of the heart. From the left side of the heart the oxygen rich blood is pumped to the entire body. The tissues of the body take the oxygen (and nutrients) from the blood and give to the blood carbon dioxide and their waste products. The funky blood travels to the kidneys where the waste products are removed and turned into urine. The carbon dioxide is removed in the lungs.
There are four valves in the heart. One at the entrance to each chamber. A dynamic balance exists between all of the parts of the body which are involved in the pumping and the cleaning of the blood. When for various reasons the circulation of the blood in the body becomes compromised, congestive heart failure is the result. If the heart is not pumping the blood with enough force, or if the blood pressure is too high, or if the kidneys are not able to clean the blood efficiently, then fluid can start to build up in the lungs and or the tissues of the body -especially the legs and feet (because of gravity).
Coronary artery disease, problems with the valves in the heart, an enlarged heart, and high blood pressure are all known causes of Congestive Heart Failure. Inquiring minds would like to know: Which came first - the high blood pressure, the heart valve trouble, the enlarged heart, or the kidney trouble? Or did they all occur simultaneously? Nobody knows the answer to these fundamental questions, and medical doctors because of their training in reductionism are not inclined to ask them. They are not concerned with curing disease so why should they be concerned with figuring out what causes it?
You have perhaps heard that high blood pressure, and high blood sugar are the results of obesity. This has never been effectively proven. What we do see is that many patients with obesity also have high blood pressure and high blood sugar. But it has never been unequivocally proven that one begets the other. I am of the opinion that all of these conditions are different arms of the same octopus - chronic nutrient deficiencies. If somebody is nutritionally deficient for a long enough period of time, they will become obese; they will get high blood pressure; they will get high blood sugar; and they will get congestive heart failure. These illnesses did not beget each other - they were all caused by the same thing – chronic undiagnosed nutrient deficiencies.
My colleague, Dr. Wallach believes that Congestive Heart Failure is due to vitamin B-1 (Thiamine) deficiencies – and is the end-stage of undiagnosed Beri-Beri.
My Rx: In addition to the 90 EN:
· Good Herbs Heart Support: Acute dose outlined in Chapter 5 for 3 months.
· Selenium: 1 bottle per 100 pounds per month not to exceed more than four bottles a month. Take in divided doses 2 to 3 times a day until the flare up of the gout resolves. After that switch to Imortalium by Youngevity: 1 to 2 bottles per month.
· Biometics Bio-Alert: 1 bottle per 100 pounds per month. This product provides B-Vitamins (and therefore Thiamine) in an extremely absorbable form.
Muscadine Grape Seed Extract: 2 bottles per 100 pounds per month. Take in 2 or 3 divided doses daily.
Choose one of the following 4 options. The intention of these products is to strengthen the valves of the heart.[1]
Gluco-Gel caps: 1 cap per 10 pounds per day.
Gluco-Gel liquid: 1 bottle per 50 pounds per month. Take 1 ounce per bottle per day.
Biometics Flexi-Care Plus: 1 bottle per 50 pounds per month. Take 1 tablespoon per bottle per day.
